“Reigai (Exception)- Alternative Art Space index Japan” is a website that provides a panoramic view of art spaces in Japan that are small in scale, yet original in their activities. The website lists Reigai art spaces that are distinct from art museums and commercial galleries. By archiving the location of each art space and making it accessible, this site aims to increase the visibility of non-commercial, independent art and cultural activities, also to raise awareness of alternative art spaces in Japan.
